Public Service Announcement.
JNP: Yesterday got messed up bad. Chuck, we think, licked a nicotine patch and I had to take him to the hospital with nicotine poisoning. He should be ok and get released this morning but it really screwed up my day. It's mentally, emotionally and financially tough owning a dog with a death wish.
me: oh my god! i've never even thought about dogs getting into nicotine...you usually worry about alcohol, chocolate, cars, etc. but oh man. glad he's better.
JNP: It's apparently extremely toxic, especially to small dogs. They don't even have to eat the patch, a good lick is all it takes.
please be on notice, nicotine-possessing dog owners!
