Reblogging an old post from March, in honor of the upcoming Infinite Summer:

Four different covers of Infinite Jest. Clockwise, from upper right: 2007 edition released in England; 10th anniversary printing; First hardback edition; First paperback edition. (via davidfosterwallace)

the upper-right cover is actually an updated version of the original abacus (uk paperback) cover, which was printed in 1997. there was no dave eggers forward; the pull quote, however, is the same. i still have my copy, which i found, i believe, on the remainder table at tower books sometime in the late ’90s.

this is neat.  upper left for me, although i appear to have lost my copy at some point after leaving for college.  oddly enough, just two days ago my mother mentioned looking for it in advance of a comprehensive garage sale/move/purging.  she’d remembered that it was important to me.
