Fuck LegalZoom; or, Lawyers Do Have A Point Sometimes

Ok, so obviously this guy is trying to gin up some business for his firm, but the larger point is SO SO TRUE: While I agree that legal fees can be burdensome (and occasionally, unduly high), and that yes, there are some basic filings and forms that individuals can probably figure out on their own, there are only very few that should be executed without attention to significant considerations which may not be readily apparent. Certainly, A WILL IS NOT ONE OF THEM. Even the execution of basic LLC filings may be risky without getting counsel on whether it’s the appropriate entity for your business in the first place.
