Listicle Without Commentary
kryz:
While I agree very strongly with all this, I must say that Home for the Holidays is actually an exceptional movie that is, like Die Hard, really about the spirit of the holidays. (Honestly I love that movie almost as much as Clue and Noises Off, and that is really saying something. Home for the Holidays, I mean. Though also Die Hard!) Oh shit. Now I’ve gone and provided commentary. The Greatest Christmas Movies of All Time, In Order

Dude. Die Hard.
Life of Brian. Duh.
Ok I could go on all night but also Gremlins and Brazil. And The Thin Man!
People. PEOPLE? Scrooged? For the Carol Kane bit alone?
Reblogging for truth. I am continually amazed at the short shrift Scrooged gets this time of year. My favorite Xmas movie by a considerable margin (although that may not be saying much). And for better or worse, it’s somewhat prescient. Any time I see a performance from an awards show, or more recently the intros to Sunday/Monday Night Football, I can’t help but think of the scenes with the Solid Gold Dancers, etc. etc. SOOO funny.
